From the first woman to be ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church, a memo to mossbacks:
Love or leave.
After such a long time, you get tired of being blackmailed by a splinter group, the Rev. Jacqueline Means said after another historic and contentious annual convention.
If we all cant sit at the table, she declared, then those who have a problem with that need to find another table.
If that sounds like precipitate language for a member of the clergy, please note that the speaker has had decades to reflect on it.
If it sounds as if shes unhappy, heavens no. By her description, she and the overwhelming majority of delegates came out of the gathering last weekend like Cubs fans whod won the World Series.
Over protests from some traditionalists, Nevada Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori was elected national presiding bishop, becoming the first woman to lead a church in the global Anglican Communion.
Read it all.
"My life was threatened. They threatened to burn down my house. Imagine what it's going to be like with her."
Liberals ALWAYS claim that they've been threatened when they voice unpopular views. Trying to play the victim and divert attention from the lack of merit of their cause.
That good old gospel of inclusivity.
Spoken like someone who has the votes.
