Churches have responded to the challenge of climate change by leading their parishes in trying to become more environmentally friendly. An Essex parish has won an ECO-Congregation Award and churches in Herefordshire and South Shropshire are being enrolled on a scheme to tackle climate change. The parish of St Mary and All Saints in Rivenhall, which won the award with its sister church St Francis’ Silver End, introduced hedgehog log-piles, nest-boxes for birds and a compost heap into its churchyard.
It also created wild flower areas and grasshopper strips of longer grass where the grasshoppers breed in the summer. The parish also has a Nature Care group that meets throughout the year studying the habitat and the environment of the surrounding area. In the diocese of Hereford, congregations are being urged to improve energy efficiency in their homes, change their electricity supplier, promote what they learn and donate their savings. Nearly £5 billion is wasted on energy in the UK every year.
A Church of England report published earlier this year, Sharing God’s Planet, urged churches to become more aware of changes they can make to benefit the environment. The Archbishop of Canterbury has described climate change as "a weapon of mass destruction."

Too really solve the Global Warming problem you would take all the IPCC studies and till them into the compost pile. That would end all the needless fear-mongering once and for all.
I see this works, when all the birds and hedgehogs come, they shoot the little SOB's so they will stop producing CO2....really, what does this have anything to do with greenhouse gas reduction?
