I tend to agree with you generally on campaign finance, other than on the loans: if you want to lend yourself money, or spend it, why not?
Spening's fine. The problem with loans is the money is raised after the election, which skirts the intent of the disclosure laws, and goes straight from the donor into the candidate's pockets. Still, I think Tom's being cozy with the gambling interests is troubling, at the very least. There's too much corruption associated with gambling to make me comfortable with it.
From what I've gathered, McClintock's position on the Indians is to abide by the letter of the treaty. I'm not a big fan of gambling, but frankly the state lottery bugs me more than the tribes.
