More people apparently want to retain Davis as Governor than want to have Arnold as Governor. But because Davis is not allowed to be a candidate to succeed himself, it doesn't mean anything.

I think you are misreading the numbers. Arnold has consistently been ahead of Davis all night. As I write this (with 58.3% of the precincts reporting) there are 2,023,621 "No-on-recall" votes (to retain Davis) but 2,104,380 votes in favor of Schwarzenegger.

If Davis could haved beed listed as a candidate, he'd still be losing to Arnold.

Ted Koppel and the ABC News crew all seem depressed, and the guests for a discussion coming up are Leon Paneta and David Gergen.

Probably time to go to sleep.

No: I'm looking at up to date returns

At the moment:

No on recall is: 2, 373, 871 with 68% of precincts reporting

Arnie is at: 2, 320, 062

The margin has been wider. But Davis has been ahead of Arnie for quite awhile.
