The total collected was $29.65, which I will round off to $30.00 and will send in when I finish this report. Actually, looking at the state chart, I will round it off a little higher to see if I can inch New Jersey a bit above New York! A little interstate rivalry, there!
But first, a run down. I collected:
72 quarters
62 dimes
66 nickels
215 pennies.
The breakdown:
$18 dollars in quarters
$6.20 in dimes
$3.30 in nickels
$2.15 in pennies.
To show how those figures would add up, for the 4 quarters, over a year, it would result in:
$72 in quarters
$24.80 in dimes
$13.20 in Nickles
$8.60 in pennies
Hope I didn't get in little 'Laz math' there! LOL!
The point of all this is --- it is painless to save change -- even if it is pennies and nickles. Over a years time, it adds up to a respectful donation, yet it doesn't hurt the pocketbook.
But how to get this message out? Who reads these pages except for regular donors?
If people could see how just a little loose change can help, would they become donors and join the club??
I'm now ready to add this to the till -----
Ka Ching!!
Thank you, Exit148 !!
WOHOOOOO ... Thank you Exit148
Indeed! As a member of your Loose Change Club, I now keep a 16 oz plastic cup on my desk and toss some of my loose change into it daily. During the past few FReepathons, it's totaled between approximately $10 and $20 per quarter. I'll count up my loose change in the next day or two, take it to the bank, and send a check.
"But how to get this message out? Who reads these pages except for regular donors?"
I hope you'll consider posting a vanity article - similar to Grampa Dave's 5,000 Freepers who care are needed now! or MonroeDNA's How we have, and can, change the world (vanity) - describing your Loose Change Club and inviting FReepers and Lurkers to join. A list of Loose Change Club members, similar to RottiBiz's Monthly Donors list could be posted during the FReepathon.
"If people could see how just a little loose change can help, would they become donors and join the club??"
Some folks may feel that a $1 (~3 cents/day), $2 (7 cents/day), or $3 (10 cents/day) per month donation is insignificant. What they need to realize is that, as kayak said, "While large donations are great, often it is the small ones that are sacrificial and inspiring. Every penny that is donated is greatly appreciated and helps to pay the bills." All donations are important and appreciated.
Your Loose Change Club is a great idea and I believe it will encourage more FReepers and Lurkers to participate in the FReepathons.
