The person behind in the polls needs to drop out. The RATS are going to spring a big surprise and the polls are going to be wrong. One GOP candidate needs all the votes because a wave of Hispanic voters will be going to the polls. Their massive participation is not being considered enough. They are likely voters -- not voters who are going to stay home. They want a governor who is Hispanic.

We can win this thing!

Only if Arnold drops out, which he won't. Stop torturing yourself.

We like Tom. It's many of his supporters we have doubts about. Many on these recall threads have been extreme in their tone, extreme in their words, and extreme in their attitude. Put it all together, and one has to come to the conclusion that many of them are extremists. They reflect badly on Tom. And quite frankly, these strident puritans of the rights have done their cause and their candidate more harm than they can ever imagine.

Manufacturers Endorse Schwarzenegger for Governor

Sacramento, CA - - Breaking an 85 year tradition, the California Manufacturers & Technology Association’s Board of Directors voted today to endorse Arnold Schwarzenegger for Governor. CMTA’s board recognized that Schwarzenegger is the candidate best equipped to promote a pro-jobs, pro-growth agenda; work to reduce the cost burden on employers; and halt the growth in government spending.

Since January 2001, California has lost more than 300,000 manufacturing jobs. These are the middle-income jobs that have been the backbone of California’s economy and pay an average of $55,000 per year.

“The state’s primary focus should be getting these people back to work,” said CMTA President Jack Stewart. “Unfortunately, Sacramento has been preoccupied lately with a job killing agenda that has added new regulatory costs and new work place mandates on employers, resulting in additional job losses.”

A recent study by the Milken Institute found that the cost of manufacturing in California is 32 percent higher than the average for the other 49 states.

“California can no longer afford an annual, helter-skelter barrage of taxes, fees and regulations. It needs a focused vision that will balance the needs of the employees and employers alike. We believe Mr. Schwarzenegger has the political will and courage to make it happen,” said Stewart. “California’s future is at stake, it’s time for bold leadership and that’s why the CMTA Board voted the way it did today.”

Stewart noted that the business community has been the “designated resource” for California’s spending spree for too long and pointed specifically to skyrocketing workers’ compensation costs, a pending explosion in the unemployment insurance tax rate, excessive electricity rate hikes for industrial customers and an increasing tax burden.

“Mr. Schwarzenegger understands the inherent need to keep families working in good, high paying jobs. California’s economy grows when our families are working and earning a fair wage. If we can provide the atmosphere to make that happen, state revenues will go up and the burden on state government will go down. It’s that simple and he gets it,” concluded Stewart.

CMTA did not take a position on the recall question.

If the 0.0000001% of California voters who inhabit the pages of FR were to vote for Tom he'd still be at 18%.

He's got a snowball's chance in hell.

Tom has been proved unethical in lying to Issa twice about what he planned to do regarding this race.
Then he has stayed in this way to long with low numbers and is potentially going to split the vote and favor a Democrat candidate.

Tom acts more like an unethical form of RINO than most people I've ever heard accused of that term.

He lost the right to any office in California in the future as well.

We shouldn't stand by wild loose cannons who stay on ego trips at the expense of the people and party.

Tom is an anchor to the Republican party at this point and is trying to sink the party with him.

I don't find Tom reasonable in any way now.

I know the online polls are less than scientific but nearly everyone I have seen shows Schwarzennegger, McClintock, Bustamante (example).

It would not surprise me if the real polls come out the same way - I mean the ones on election day.

I have to laugh when I read this analysis. The reason McClintock hasn't been driven into the ground like social conservatives Simon and Lungren before him is that Democrats have been letting him off the hook. They haven't criticized him. They've even had positive words for him. If Schwarz. were out of the race, they would bury him like they buried Lungren in 1998.

Great news!

Now maybe the surrender monkeys will want to salvage a little pride and come home to Tom McClintock. The surrender monkeys are now fresh out of excuses for sticking with the movie star. (Because he can "win", lol.))

Well, now it looks like McClintock can win.

This McClintock vs. Bustamante poll has a 10%-25% House Vigorish and queried a representative sample of 620 tribal owners, mobbed-up operational staffers, and catatonic elderly pensioneers attending "Krazy Keno Monday" at Casino Morongo.

Pray tell, when Arnold has a commanding lead with one week to go, why would drop out?

McC's done.

You might want to consider putting your money where your mouth is. A $500 investment in McClintock in the Iowa Electronic Markets would turn into $100,000 on election day if Tom wins. Sounds like easy money! Unfortunately, the market seems to be saying that McClintock supporters don't have much faith in McClintock.

Oh Gosh, its so nice, we should give all the Tomikazies a special olympics type of medal for coming in third, so that we don't hurt their self esteem.

Tom could never win, not in this election, or one without Arnold (because he would face Riordan, Simon, Issa).

Tom is at 15% in the polls, at least 5% of that is bravado from nutty patriots and evangelicals that will evaporate. Tom gets no more than 11% in the final run (taking into account the early votes)

So, Tom McClintock, who had a limited position of power will flame out, and destroy a career where he could have made a difference for California.

Now, he will just be a trivia question...

To bad the RINO / country-clubbers will never support a true conservative like Tom McClintock.

They want Schwarzenkennedy in so their leftist social policy will be continued, gay rights, radical environmental policy, pro-illegal alien, etc.

California will continue going down the tubes with Arnie at the wheel.

This is just proof that RINO's will NEVER support a true conservative that CAN WIN!

It also PROVES that they are as big an enemy to conservatism as any demoRat!
