He's your oldest and your best friend
If you need him he'll be there again
He's always willing to be second best
The perfect lodger, the perfect guest

He never makes any enemies, enemies
He won't complain if he's down on his knees
He'll always ask, he'll always say please

Beautiful loser, never take it all
Because it's easier, and faster when you fall

I don't remember the first stanza. That's why I haven't followed through with that Bob Seger "Is he or isn't HE?" tribute tour.

McClintock ain't beautiful or gracious

"McClintock ain't beautiful or gracious"

I have to agree. But he is approaching "sainthood" with a particular group of groupies hereabouts...

Newsflash-- Haynes is a SELLOUT.

This is foreign to a narcissistic loser, but most of us who WIN call that "teamwork" with enthusiastic rallying behind their man who is smelling victory.

That's how you build a winning mojo.

How are your beloved Clippers looking?

Good grief ArnieF! How's Lake Wobegon?! Dreaming of surfing and volleyball on the beach in November up there? ;-)

Get a new mojo will ya, this one has gone limp.

CA's GOP under Governor Arnold will attract many times the number of the departing ideologues, many of whom do not vote, electing instead, to stay home and pout.

As a matter of fact, the vast majority of newly registered voters for THIS election have chosen the GOP. Why? Arnold.

Worth repeating.

Go, Arnold.

I'm not done.

If Arnold Schwarzenegger wins this election, he will hold the SECOND highest-profile political office in America. He, like Bush, will show our generally politically uninvolved citizen neighbors that Republicans are trustworthy, wise, courageous and working for our intersts in honest duty.

Do you think it was an aberration Republicans GAINED Senate seats in the off year election after Bush's tireless, personal involvement? For the first time ever? W has stroke, he has coattails, and Arnold has coattails times 10.

If Arnold wins, he'll be a juggernaut bringing investment, business and cooperation among normally opposed factions like public unions, teachers, regulators and Democrat legislators to California. It's a given. He's going to stop HP from relocating to Boise, Houston or Colorado Springs. He won't let Hollywood relocate in Vancouver. He'll look the Chinese and Euros in the eye and demand a market for his farmers if they want a market for rice, oil and consumer goods. His trade missions overseas will be celebrity events, he's gonna close a lot of business. He's California's Top Salesman, day one.

With a torch bearer like him at the helm, now Republican candidates and their supporters have leverage. They have energy and confidence and attitude that wins electons and garners new political supporters.

Arnold's win is a force multiplying blessing to Republicans in California ... hell, Republicans EVERYWHERE. He will SUCCEED in turning California around. He is as much a blessing to the GOP as was Rudy Guiliani. If a GOP candidate is earnestly pro-life but a desired addition to the team .... Arnold, like Rudy, will campaign fully for their success.

That's what he brings to the table. If you don't see that, if you don't celebrate the sea change, and embrace and exploit the bounty a charismatic Republican in Sacramento offers ... well, it really doesn't matter. You're in the rear view mirror.

Consider Arnold's FIRST business meeting as Governor:

Arnold and a superstar financial team call on Moody's, BEST and S&P. Arnold lays out his objective for California, a thriving, diversified economic machine worthy of her resources and blessings. Arnold looks the bankers in the eye and says "Califonia is going to be the Golden State again. Your clients will want to be invested in our bounty after too many years. We need your help, we need a bond rating that reflects our potential."

And you know what? These hardassed bankers will BELIEVE Arnold will deliver. Then they'll look at Warren Buffet, sitting at his elbow. Buffett nods his endorsment.

California has a massive bond market 10 minutes after they leave. Arnold is the man. Buffett is the closer. Who gives a flip what his view on abortion or gays are? Buffett is there as Arnold's guarantor.

That's what Buffet provides. Rob Lowe provides hooks into Hollywood, which is California's most vital industry. Robert Kennedy assuages the enviromental nazis. George Schultz has inroads to EVERY foreign leader everywhere, and Arnold needs to have those folks buy Califonia produced products.

This isn't amateur hour. Arnold's not effing around. This isn't a vanity trip. He want's to rescue California. He's built a professional unit.

If only he could have won the support of Michael Savage and the folks on Free Republic.

To bad the RINO / country-clubbers will never support a true conservative like Tom McClintock.

They want Schwarzenkennedy in so their leftist social policy will be continued, gay rights, radical environmental policy, pro-illegal alien, etc.

California will continue going down the tubes with Arnie at the wheel.

This is just proof that RINO's will NEVER support a true conservative that CAN WIN!

It also PROVES that they are as big an enemy to conservatism as any demoRat!

Me thinks you don't know what you are talking about. Someone posted that one side or another (I forget which) was "fascist," and I then quoted the famous line from the popular Huey P. Long. I didn't call anyone "fascist." I never use the term.

Schwarzenegger HAS power, he HAS fame, he HAS fortune.

He just celebrated his 25th anniversary as a naturalized citizen. He arrived here speaking miminal English, a product of a rough post WWII Austrian family and with only the hope of America's blessing.

That's why he's in this. It tortures him to see the land, the State, that gave him so much become so polluted.

His mission is sincere, honest and in the greatest spirit of America. His execution will be planned, professional and designed to WIN.

The man is real, he's uniquely charismatic and he's going to make California and Californians healthy and vibrant and hopeful again.

You think he's afraid to go before gays, men, women, civil service unionists, Mexicans, Indians, Blacks, Asians Farmers, Techies, Hollywood Producers and Military folk at random and not speak truthfully without intimidation to describe and promise service to their interests as Californians first and foremost?

I don't think so.

You, sir are a huge breath of fresh air. The atmosphere around FR lately has been pretty nasty, and with the name calling and childish postings, I've been feeling more and more repelled from this forum.

Thanks for the clear-thinking posts!

He'll go to California's major debt holders and say ... "Loook, I am not just a movie robot and Hollywood actor and all these things, I am a businessman first. I want you to know Kah-lee-for-nians are da best investments you can make, and we pay our debts. So my people are here to work on your debt da best way I can because that's what is right and dat's what we do. We want to make you whole,, but let me tell you you want to be in thees Kahlifoornya I say because the Golden State and all those things are coming back better than ever! I've told my staff to work with you to get your money and time and sanity and all this things back ..."

That's all it takes. Everybody will restructure their relationships with California if there are adults in charge. Nobody wants to lose California as a customer when the prosperity train starts steaming wit' a quickness.

Grey Davis had the phone off the hook and hid all day long for two years.

Funny, I've used the word juggernaut in connection to Arnold too...

We've all got our crystal balls, apparently.

Mine votes.

Buh-bye Arne

If only he could have won the support of Michael Savage and the folks on Free Republic.

First of all, he has the support of plenty of the folks on Free Republic.

Secondly, Michael Savage is right a lot of the time, but vain and pompous all of the time. I don't have much respect for him.

Compared to people like Larry Elders and Mark Levin and Sean Hannity, Michael Savage is a little, little man.
