Quote from Tom McClintock: "I have never been popular in the country club wing of the Republican Party."

Country Clubs are full of very successful people. Tom doesn't want success, he wants to be a martyr.

I can't believe he would be stupid enough to say something like that. It just makes him look petty and small. 'You want some sour grapes with that whine?' When the party steps up and finally endorses a candidate, that's a pretty good indication that they expect all other Republicans to withdraw from the race. It was short-sighted on his part to make a statement that he was in it to the end, knowing he could wind up a spoiler candidate.

Country Clubs are full of very successful people.

A great many of them successful either at choosing their parents or obtaining government contracts.

I'll vote for Arnold, but I have little respect for the country club set.

Country Club wing of the GOP = a herd cowering and retreating from the Gramscian advance. Middle of the road = run over from both directions.....
