BTW, Virginia Beach is "encouraging" evacuation as of 11 a.m. this morning. I'm in VA Beach, at work so I'm getting limited new info. Last night the local guys seemed pretty calm and the city said they foresaw no need to evacuate, this morning everything seems more intense and the city's starting to suggest some evacuations and mandate others. I've checked the forecast maps and they still show the same paths I saw last night...
Are you aware of any changes that haven't yet been updated on the maps?

I'm in VA BeachIf it comes ashore in NC, you will have a lot of wind and rain. If it doesn't, you are in trouble.

I'm on the Peninsula! They just made an announcement that if the wind speed picks up to 59mph or more that they will shutdown all the bridges. So?? Keep it on WNIS 790AM or whatever radio channel you can get there.
Of course, VA Dominion Power stated that if power is lost, it could be a lengthy time. So?? Pray the power doesn't go out.

My sister lives in Smithfield, VA. She is insisting that she'll be fine but I'm worried. She's originally from Pittsburgh and has no experience with what may happen.
