I think you are partially correct. I think there are statements made on this board that counter leftist political dogma, and as such could be characterized as "hateful." I do not mean objectively hateful, but hateful as defined to be anything that doesn't mirror the left's race pandering, class envy, victocrat mentality.

I do not think that any reasonable person would think FR or its members pose a threat to anyone. One of the left's most significant victories is changing the terms of the dialogue so that there is no recognized difference between word and deed. For example, if state that I do not think illegal immigrants should not have drivers licenses the left would understand this to imply that I "hate" illegal immigrants and must be stopped before I harm them or violate their civil rights.

I try to avoid granting their assumption that voicing my opinion or disapproval necessarily means that I will carry out some physical action against those with whom I disagree.

How am I correct? I didn't say that.

I do not think that any reasonable person would think FR or its members pose a threat to anyone.

I don't either. Do you consider leftists to be reasonable? Perhaps you should direct your thoughts towards Trust but Verify.

I try to avoid granting their assumption that voicing my opinion or disapproval necessarily means that I will carry out some physical action against those with whom I disagree.

That's good. You shouldn't ever do that even in the slightest degree.

Does anyone have the photo of the pro-recall demonstrator getting kicked by pro-Davis union thugs?

That right there is your "potential for violence."

I dont guess that sounded as I intended it too. I believe homosexuality is wrong, it is a sin, I am against homosexuality, I do not hate homosexuals.

... get some trucks and start circling around the park with pink and black flags hanging out and keep swerving and hooting out the window and accelerating and braking with a jerky sense of irritation and speed towards pedestrians as though you're not going to stop.

"LSD in the potato salad"

Especially don't mix e coli and LSD. Imagine what a park full of these poor souls would look like, all tripping, throwing up and having diarrhea at the same time. It sure wouldn’t be pretty. Funny, maybe, but not pretty. No sireee, not pretty at all.

Let's take a poll. How many people here would laugh their butts off if they saw something like that?

LSD and bacteria in Freeper food?

Hey, you know how Sherman Austin got sent to jail for a year because of a link that someone else uploaded onto his website ... Also, could we upload those links onto free republic and get the owner of the free republic sent to jail?

A public park on a weekend day ...place for a pitched battle, with guns on one side and firebombs on the other.

Actually, I did have a pretty good Muslim friend for quite a while. One bad incident killed the relationship. She was exceptionally upset about 9/11, and I believe that. It was her work. It killled me, or nearly. She was just way in over her head, but we couldn't afford to carry any one.

At any given time over the past 6 months I had a documented workload that was some 10-20 times larger than her allocated project list. One time, she was late on a particular aspect of a project that had stretched on for more than it had to. My boss was pulling his hair out and gingerly asked if there was any way I could pick up some of the lighter aspects of what she had to do. I had 18 open/active projects at that time and said "sure thing".

Well, she got the project milestone functional on Thursday evening, and we all applauded her, then went back to our own stuff. I figured, good, she's got her big milestone complete so she's ok. I can get on with my stuff then. Monday comes along and she stops by my office. "Oh say, that stuff you were going to do for me? When can you have them on my desk?"

Cold, empty silence ensues...

"You got the milestone complete Thursday, yes?"

"Yes."

"You only have two projects".

"Oh, but they are hard projects".

"I'm sure, but I have 18 at the moment..."

"But you said you'd do this."

"To help you meet the deadline, but you did that on your own, so now your free to finish the rest."

It wasn't a pretty scene, she actually went to management and they couldn't believe what they were hearing either.

I made a permanent disconnect. I could not afford mentally, emotionally nor otherwise to carry someone like that, which we were if you note the disproportionate project allocation. Very sad situation, but we have to be productive to stay ahead in our industry. At any rate, this isn't hate, it's simply cold reality in a corporate environment.

"Hey! What's wrong with refried beans?"

In reality? Probably nothing.

As a well fed American from the east, I guess I never got that hungry?

Bet you didn't send a letter to "Bush the Elder" when he said he didn't like broccoli, but sure, go ahead, pick on me. ;)

I'm not picking on you, just seemed that refried beans looked out of place on your "I hate" list.

P.S. They're not that bad mixed with cheddar cheese and some Tabasco.

"I'm not picking on you, just seemed that refried beans looked out of place on your "I hate" list."

Sir! I will remind you that it was not my "hate list", but merely my "anti list", and I know you wern't picking on me. [I'm such slim pickings]

You have correctly noted that my choice of "re-fried beans" was, at best, a grasping at straws choice showing my inferior mental processes at work.

Now that you mentioned it, I may just try some re-fried beans mixed with cheddar cheese and some Tabasco.

Cheers!

The Freerepublic is the largest, busiest, and most widely read political forum in the world, with around 100,000 members.

The truth comes out: the leftists are just jealous, because their websites are only peopled by a few dozen wild-eyed freakshows that fantasize about testifying to the Senate Judiciary Committee and spiking Freeper coleslaw with LSD.

If we are a hate group, we're an exceptional confused lot. Let's see, so who do we hate today?

Yeah, the only ones we can all agree on are the French... and in truth, it's not so much hate as utter disdain... ;P
