Hmmmmm... Interesting isn't it? Crime went down on Bush's watch. I wonder if the libs will suck it up and give credit where credit is due.

We now have more guns being carried legally than anytime in our history. The armed and legal citizen is the first stop against crime.

I wonder if the libs will suck it up and give credit where credit is due.Never. It will be credited to Clinton's 100,000 'ficticious' new COPS or maybe it was 'Midnight basketball'!!

Some criminologists think tougher prison sentences and more prisons are key factors, because they take more criminals off the streets longer. Ya think?
Men are more likely to be crime victims than women, blacks more likely than whites or Hispanics and people below age 24 more than those who are older.
The same could be said for the perps, as well. But that would be politically incorrect.

Crime went down on Bush's watch. The vast majority of crime is dealt with at the State level.

Many of the criminals were taken off the streets and elected to office.

It's all those prisons that were built ------ We need to build more, just get the criminals off the streets and crime goes down.

This latest finding is going to cause tremendous consternations amongst the local TV news guys/gals, who base their entire local newscasts of the premise that there's more crime now than ever before and it's all viewers care about.
One of our local Nashville stations is that way - all the crime gets shoved to the front of the newscast, and this is the station that USUALLY leads in the 5, 6, and 10pm casts. But they are mistaken if they think story selection is the reason - the actual reason is the star power of the anchors and the fact that it's the NBC affilliate. They also have the best weather people (with the exception of a loved and adored but fading Bill Hall who's still there long after he should have retired).
My wife usually likes us to watch the 10pm before she heads off to bed, but the other evening, we bailed from the movie "Selena" to the news - and oddly it was my wife who complained that "it's all just crime news, let's go back to the movie." And we did.
