McClintock is *UNELECTABLE

Haven't heard that chestnut since the "moderate" Republicans used it against Reagan in Republican primaries! Thanks for jogging my memory!

Voting Schwarzneggar is a Liberal victory disguised as Republican. Hardly a win.

What makes McClintock "unelectable"? Didn't he score more votes than Simon, and for a lesser-known office, and with a pitiful fraction of the money, in the last statewide election?

Or is "unelectable" the RINO euphemism for a conservative who means what he says?

Let Arnold lead the Republican party where it needs to go: pro-abortion, pro-gay rights, pro-gun control, NOT!!!! If Arnold is elected, if will be a bigger disaster for the Republican party than Richard Nixon. I would rather have a Democrat run California for a couple of more years, then have Arnold lead the Republican party totally into RINO land. Wake up real Republicans, or your party is toast!

Go Tom go!

>>McClintock is *UNELECTABLE*.

I disagree. But he has to challenge California to get over the "anybody but a conservative attitude" and show them how that led to Davis.

Tolerance for the conservative. Open mindedness for a conservative.

He should challenge Californians to have an open mind and vote for a conservative OR keep Davis in office.

The message has to get to the people that "anyone but a conservative" is a disaster.

I would prefer a liberal Democrat in office than a liberal Republican. I can't tell if Schwarzenegger is liberal or conservative. He may not know himself.

A liberal in the govenor's seat will lead the state further into the abyss. If that's what happens, please let it be a Rat at the helm.

However, an effective conservative can lead the state to prosperity and happiness. He will have to force the liberal Rat legislature to follow his lead, but the legislators should be shaken by Davis' recall and should be amenable to leadership.

He may very well win, however, it would be a very hollow victory. But, if all that matters is that we get someone with an (R) after his name on the ballet, by all means sacrifice principle and beliefs for power. After all, that's what the Democrats do. See what the polls say and make yourself into what the people seem to want. No thanks! If I were in CA, I'd vote for the real conservative. Go McClintock!

A self-fulfilling prophecy, or an attempt to influence the ignorant and uninformed.

You go ahead and set the election-by-poll.

Me?
I'm doing it at the ballot box.

Dear Sir:

As I am sure you are aware, there are 2 ways to vote.

#1. Vote your conscience. This is the principled way our Founding Fathers intended us to vote. Then, you get office-holders who represent "principled" positions, even if you disagree with them.

#2. Vote the way you expect other people to vote. This is the Hugh Hewitt, "pragmatist" way of thinking. This way you get "pragmatic" office-holders.

Sir: You are, obviously, a "pragmatist". Before you vote, you stick your finger in the wind and calculate your vote in relation as to how you think everybody else will vote. That's your right.

But, it is not a principled position.

And remember the simple slogan:

"Pragmatism Isn't"

Incidentally, McPherson, who ran for Lt. Governor, is one of the most liberal Republicans in the state.

Guess who got more votes, Simon or Bruce?

Hint: liberal republicans aren't de facto electable.

If McClintock is *UNELECTABLE Arnie should be willing, if not anxious, to enter into a public agreement with McClintock.

McClintock and Arnie negotiate a public contract. A simple list. What Arnie WILL do if elected, what he will TRY to do, what he will try to AVOID, and what he WON'T do, regardless of the consequences to himself or the state.

Arnie signs the contract, it's published and publisized and McClintock supports Arnie.
