I'd contribute to stand up for science.

It amazes me that Conservatives are proud of the fact that a lot of them subscribe to such utterly inane beliefs as "creation science."

Next thing you know, we'll be pushing for alchemy to be taught along with real chemistry, because, damn it, that's what the medieval Europeans believed.

Be amazed then. Creationism has nothing to do with alchemy.

Doesn't surprise me a bit. These are Buckleycons--standing athwart Science, yelling "Stop, you're making me uncomfortable!"

Or, as "The Onion" put it: "I don't accept fundamental tenets of science AND I VOTE!"

Alchemy is taught right along chemistry. It's called nuclear physics, and it's laws allow for the transmutation of other metals into gold. Of course they didnt know that in the enlightenment era and likely criticized their predecessors for even pondering such things.

At least Alchemy laid the foundations of intellectual inquiry for actual Chemistry. In that respect, it had some worth.

Intelligent Design questions the scientific basis for evolution, challenging its' wishful thinking. Don't lump it with the meaningless label "creationism".

Then you should be opposed to evolution, it is not science. There is tons of Evidence Disproving Evolution , as well as many Amazing Creatures which in no way could have evolved as evolution claims. There are also plenty of reasons to say Bye, Bye Darwin.
