Thanks for posting this -- I wonder what Daschle would say? Obviously this is a right-wing consiracy!

Forward Daschle the whole WH thread. It's powerful and very eye-opening. Saddam's loyalists (those who who how to use our (willing) press) do not represent the majority of the Iraqi people. The troops have been saying this since Baghdad Liberation Day.
The press isn't listening.

Wow....just wow. Thanks for posting this, RC.

Lol, me, too. Very shrewd of the WH to use the press to make the case. The 'Tales of Saddam's Brutality' (link above) are also taken from various press accounts - a horrendous compilation of torture, murder and abuse - and yet, the same papers that reported this question the war.
The left'll make your head explode if you think too hard about what they do and say.

I'm a little late...but thanks for starting the ping list. I always love your posts!
To: anniegetyourgun
You're very welcome, annie. Go to the WH website and read the whole thing. Very moving - brave people, the Iraqis.

Liberation Update
News accounts today paint a vivid picture of joy and relief inside Iraq. American and coalition troops are being welcomed by smiling Iraqis. Their voices have been silenced for too long, but now they are heard inside Iraq and around the world.

Sorry I'm so late. I didn't think the left would behave
this badly - silly me.
You're very welcome.

Thanks, Phil. That boy knows he found a good role model. Children love our troops...and not just for the candy.

So true. They've had it so bad, it can only get better and seem hopeful now. I wonder about those of us who have it so good though. Can it only get worse from here for us? Or is that the one question we Americans are only allowed to think, but never ask out loud?
To: Ragtime Cowgirl
Thanks for posting the WH site on Iraq. Bookmarked for thorough perusal....and sending out. :-)
Just the quotes on this page (so many from the New York Slimes, of all things!) speak volumes.
I really liked this one:
"We have no experience in this, governing a democracy. It's a little like raising a child. But we can do it."
-- Nasir Chaderchi, member of the Iraqi Governing Council, The New York Times, August 12, 2003

Lisa, check out the other link as well...'Tales of Saddam's Brutality'. I linked them both to my homepage. Together they make a powerful case against Saddam and for the Iraqi people - and our war effort.
Both links have been available at the WH website for months. The quotes are updated every week or two.
Please ping me when your column's posted. Thank you!

Thank you, tia. I know the press is painting a very different picture of this war than the numbers, troops, CENTCOM and the Iraqi people prove every day. Most people don't think to check non-news sources - I wouldn't either except that I started recapping CENTCOM briefings at the OIF thread daily - and the news that followed proved to be inaccurate more often than not - CENTCOM validated time after time.
Spread the word, tia. The troops need our help getting the word out. I'm updating my homepage daily. Thank you!
