Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)
Myself | 8-11-03 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 08/11/2003 12:57:30 PM PDT by Brad’s Gramma

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Fellow Freepers…….I bring you Logan!!!

Miss V, is a real cutie patootie...and boy she is standing pretty good for an 8 month old.

She's been doing that for a couple of months. About a week or so ago, she pulled herself up from sitting to standing. Oh she was holding on to her mother's hands, but for all the help she got, it could have just as well been a metal bar. She's also pulled herself up from laying down to only her heels touching the floor, using her rings. Her mother was a gymnast, I think she might be as well. She's got the build for it. Short legs, moderate body length, long arms.

On Christmas eve, she kept trying to pull the hymnal out of my hands as her grandma held her. The next day I was reading her new book to her, and she tried to take that away as well. Now she didn't want to read it, or even look at the pictures, she wanted to bite it. But she's a strong little cuss, and her Grandpas are very proud of her.

GREAT...I hope her Mom does get her into gymnastics...I was on the team all through school...in Colorado.

In Texas, they don't have competitive gymnastics through the school.

She sounds like she will need the outlet for her energy...LOL

Yes, I am having the same thing with my 1 year old granddaughter, Chase...she is always putting stuff into her mouth...Dr. Pepper cartons, my shoes, dog biscuits that our dog hid (but babies have a special radar that finds these things)...

You name it...she has tried to eat it...but, NOW, she doesn't want to eat baby food...but she won't eat meat or cheese either, just shoes, and cardboard....LOL

Not much worry about that. Her mother is a sports junkie. Team sports, such as football, baseball, and futbol, of course especially individual sports such as gymnastics, figure skating, skiing, track and field, etc. You did notice that Miss V already has her own set of rings, didn't you? :) Soon, probably summer if she's walking by then, she'll get a "jungle gym" type set up for the backyard.

If you think she was standing well in that photo, look at this one, taken just a week or two later.

You can tell by her expression she thinks she's the Cat's Meow ... and she could be right. :)

Oh...my, she looks SO proud of herself!...and I say again, she is a cutie patootie...

My granddaughter Chase turned 1 today!!! I had her overnight last night...so I was the first to sing Happy Birthday to her....of course, she didn't know what I was singing..but, she still had a huge smile!!

I have started calling her "chiclets" because she loves to show off her new teeth...that look like little chiclet chewing gum....LOL

I have GOT to get a picture to post and put on my home page...

Thanks for posting that one of Miss Victoria...it was very thoughtful of you!!!

Yes you do. Do your children, or you, have a digital camera? Downloading from the camera and then emailing , if necessary is a snap.

We're lousy with them, although mine is a super cheapie. Grandma Gato's is a really good one though, and Miss V's parents just got a new one, which is also pretty good and that is what the standing picture was taken with. The Texas USC game picture was taken with Grandma's camera, since it was at her house.

I had promised myself that after the first of the year...that I would learn how to post pictures...and also "decorate" my home page with pics..

So FAR, not so good....I haven't accomplished anything...but, I have 4 family birthdays this month and next...so, I may have to wait...

LOL...I thought getting "old" and being a grandparent meant "resting and slowing down"...but, I find that I am busier now, with the "family" stuff and babysitting duty, than I ever have been!!!

Thanks for the tip about pictures...we DO have a digital camera...but, I usually use by "old-fashioned" one...but, we do have some pictures on the digital...

As soon as I figure it out...YOU will be the first to get a picture of my grandkiddies...

Still waiting Grandma.

But here's one to enjoy while we wait. (Click on image for larger version)

I learned how to use the cup holder on daddy's 'puter. I just press a button and out it pops! Hmm I wonder if it can hold my bottle. Better test it first. Lets see what happens when I pull down hard on it. I see.. daddy gets upset when I pull down hard. Hehe he sure is funny. Oh well I best let his toy be. I wouldn't want him to play with my toys...

LOL....my goodness, I thought my granddaughter Chase was the only fascinated by the "drawer" that opens and shuts on the computer!!

She usually wants to chew on the mouse, and if I hold her in my lap...she is desperate to pound some keys...

That picture you posted is adorable...what a cutie...and such a familiar scene!!

Is she walking yet?

Chase started walking on her 1st birthday...and just doesn't stop walking now, from the minute she gets up, until she goes to bed..

Has Nama following in circles...so far, only one bad fall into the fireplace hearth...bruise on cheek..

OK everyone....I NEVER EVER thought I'd be doing this again, on this thread...ever. I just received this from Logan's Nana...if you have prayer ping lists, I BEG you to use them now...

Father God, you've done SO MUCH in this child's life. Please PLEASE Father, we beseech you once again to intervene on Logan's behalf. Please Lord, heal this child...100%, as you've always done. Please Lord, hear our prayer...

Logan is REAL sick. He had an allergic reaction to Augmentin and now has Erythema Multiforme in a severe form. You cannot believe what he looks like. I'm worried sick. Please say a prayer for him.........

We were at the ER with him all night. He's home now, but must be watched 24 hours a day to make sure that he doesn't have breathing difficulties. You almost can't see a normal color on his skin for the redness and rash everywhere. He has the kind that has developed into blisters. It can get better, or it can get worse. It will take at LEAST 10 -14 days to see where this is going........

I prayed for Logan when he was a tiny baby, and I will pray now, too. May the Lord heal Logan completely and bring comfort to all watching over him.
