You misunderstand the dynamics of a race like this.

Turning out your voters is the key here, and no one is better equiped to do it then conservatives, if they will quit being defeatist idiots and get off their *sses and do it.

I don't misunderstand it at all. Arnold is in better shape to get voters out than anyone. A big part of the emotonal package of a recall election is people being tired of the same old politicians making the same old promises. If people were looking for a normal political answer they'd wait until the guy faces normal re-election. Somebody from outside the box has an immediate advantage, somebody from outside the box who's already gotten more TV time than all his opponents combined is a sure fire winner.
