President Bush is discussing trouble spots around the globe with senior members of his national security team in meetings this week.

Secretary of State Colin Powell and his deputy, Richard Armitage, were to have dinner with Bush Tuesday night, then meet with the president Wednesday, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said. The Middle East and North Korea were expected to be at the top of the agenda.

there needs to be a hillaryesque purge in the state dept at some time.

You can't allow the state dept to keep disrespecting and underming the white house.

Rumsfeld has been remarkably civil with the state dept.

Thank God the miltary is still totally loyal the white house and Americans. the military is one of the few institutions left that is not corrupt. thats why clinton weakened it. it is a serious problem for socialists.

"This time I think the Americans are serious. Bush is not like Clinton. I think this is the end" Uday Hussein, April 6, 2003

AND, the OTHER 16 words from the State of the Union message this year:

"...we will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, to other presidents, and other generations..." President George W. Bush, January 28, 2003

The meetings with Powell and Armitage had nothing to do with their possible futures in the Bush administration, officials said. Bush jogged with about 30 military personnel, mostly Marines, on his ranch at midday Tuesday. They waited until early afternoon to allow temperatures to reach their forecast high of 102 degrees.

That allowed the Marines to earn a coveted spot in Bush's "100-degree club."

You gotta love this man's sense of humor, don't you?

They WAITED until afternoon, so it was over 100?? Gee......I wonder why the press hates to go to Crawford?? :o)

Thanks for the Bush humor "Ping", oWf!

"...wonder why the press hates to go
to Crawford".

Yes, it's beastly hot in Texas now. I
do know they also despise Crawford for
its small town, "isolated", Americana,
Texana, non-liberal, Mayberry USA-and-
Jimmy Stewart-like, dull-ly ordinary
AMBIANCE.

Not disagreeing with your reason, just
adding another one.

And I love this stuff he pulls on the
press. Marines & 100-degree heat for
his run, INDEED!

Ahhh...but the 107 was a few weeks ago. It's now in the mid 80's during the day here. And I'm an hour from the ocean and an hour from the Sierra. :o)

Haha! I was just telling Deport on another thread tha right now it's 111 degrees about 15 miles out of Crawford where I sit under a ceiling fan with the AC running full blast. I saw some of the press corps in a restaurant at lunch today and there was some major complaining going on about the heat. Poor babies.
