This morning I decided to let BRAVO have an earful. Here is my email:

"As a DirecTV subscriber, I am notifying you I am permanently blocking BRAVO from my menu on my DSS receiver.

Your push for homosexual-'friendly' programming demonstrates your pandering to an audience that exhibits behavior that is not only detrimental to their own health, but the health and safety of families everywhere. I refuse to risk allowing my children to see promo material on your channel, so I find it necessary to block BRAVO and will encourage others to do so. Your advertisers will no longer reach me or my family members, and I have let DirecTV know of our all too easy decision to block BRAVO.

You may consider a homosexual audience on worthy of pursuit, but families who treasure their own lifestyles think otherwise."

I encourage others to let both BRAVO and their cable/DSS companies know that you're blocking their agenda-pushing programming!

I doubt if he is "afraid" of homosexuals. He is right on target with most of what he says. He never said he hated homosexuals. They happen to have a larger amount of sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS and YES if you read Free Republic they DO have an agenda in the schools, there are plenty of threads stating so and give evidence, as well as the United Nations. And YES, many religions consider it a depraived act. I've never seen homosexuality in nature.

...I believe your story but it's still anecdotal. You can't draw general conclusions about all sodomites from just this one. Adulterers are always despicable sneaks, sodomite adulterers are just a little lower yet.

But the point *I* was trying to make was that you can't generalize. I believe the politically correct homo-speak term is "butt-buddy". I'm not trying to draw general conclusions, just the opposite. Greatest mistake he ever made in his life. (I hope, I'm working on it.) What I was trying to add to this thread was that it's wrong to generalize, or try to stereotype all gays as "swishy". Based on my experience with this dick-head, a lot of them are just the opposite, and really enjoy messing with a lot of "conservative", "traditional", "masculine" preconceptions. It's like the old Pogo cartoon, "we have met the enemy and they are us!"

If it were true that conservatives who don't consider homosexuality an issue are spineless and fold at the first sign of controversy, then we wouldn't always be here on these threads arguing with people who are brainwashed by the Falwell crowd.

(I don't really think you've been brainwashed, nor have I. I think we've both made rational decisions on this issue based on different assumptions, we happen to disagree, and one of us is probably wrong. And it shouldn't matter so much, because we probably agree on 90 percent of issues.)

I could care less about Boy Meets Boy-it's boring, and I find nothing about it interesting. Queer Eye for the Straight guy I find very entertaining. The guys on the show are very good in their areas of expertise regardless of their sexual orientation-Carson Kressly is the only catty/raunchy one on the show.

I know Bravo is selling the show with the title, but I would watch it even if Bravo's selling point wasn't their Queerness.

Thom Felicio, the interior decorator is certainly more creative than the guy on hgtv's Decorating Cents who makes stuff out of found objects.

I have read the bio's of the Fab 5, and they are all accomplished in their fields-I don't think that has anything to do with their gayness. I think it has to do with Bravo's marketing the show. And actually, if I hadn't heard about it on FR, I wouldn't have known about Queer Eye. I've never watched Bravo before, and I thought it was a premium channel. Imagine my surprise when I found out that I get Bravo on the tier. Imagine my surprise when I decided to check out the evil that is Queer Eye, and found it funny, and full of cooking/decorating/fashion tips.

There are no children in my house, btw.

Since the Supreme Court decision which appeared to support homosexuals, polls have indicated LESS tolerance for the gay agenda than poll results taken just two months earlier. Bill O'Reilly was right tonight as he pondered why this backlash. BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE GETTING SICK OF THEM. Too much exposure to gays on tv, news, schools, etc., is having the opposite effect they want.

So why do they need to qualify it as "queer"? You're correct.
Why can't this be about a bunch of strait guys giving advice on pleasing their woman? Most great artist and designers are very hetero. See, there is an assumption by this show that queers have more sense in fashion and social sense.It's insulting. Unless your a "fag hag" most women hate homos. Yeah, that's right. Unless you live in the frilly none reality world of the actor and/or art collector this portaytal is simply made for the 0.5% of the dysfunctional population. This show is totally for shock. Scared straight actually I appreciated their motives. It did lower crime rate slightly, but in the end the effect was marginal. I do not besmirch it in the least bit.

I do think that there are worse things than this tv show. The other bravo show, the gay dating one, I find vulgar and obscene, like the Joe Millionaire ones.
