Rep. Nadler to undergo second surgery for weight loss

WASHINGTON (AP) -- New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler will have a second round of stomach-reduction surgery to speed up his weight loss.

Nadler, a Manhattan Democrat, underwent the first procedure almost a year ago, and he has since shed about 75 pounds.

"I certainly am doing a lot more walking and so forth,'' said Nadler, who at 5'4'' once weighed 338 pounds. "I didn't take the subway before because I didn't want to walk the stairs -- now I take the subway all the time.''

Nadler's surgery, to be performed in New York, will complete the second part of a two-phase procedure. The first operation removed part of his stomach, a procedure aimed at making a patient feel full after eating a small amount.

The second surgery involves bypassing a section of the small intestine, making it harder for the body to absorb nutrients and calories from food.

Though the stomach reduction and the intestinal bypass can be done in the same operation, Nadler said he chose to have the procedures done separately in order to reduce the risk of complications.

"You don't do this unless you've tried every other way,'' he said.

"now I take the subway all the time.''

Yeah, it's easy if you can get through the door.

I presume he means the special Congressmen-only Metro.

He wouldn't be caught dead on subway shoulder-to-shoulder with his constituents.

"You don't do this unless you've tried every other way,'' he said.

Or you could exercise and eat less. But that takes effort.

And to think that former Senator D'AMATO once took heat for referring to this guy as "Congressman Waddler".

Exactly who is paying for these cosmetic surgeries?

Does this mean if Nancy Pelosi wants a boob job we have to foot the bill for that as well?

Don't remember who said it, but my favorite comment was -

"Nadler is just retaining a little water. Lake Michigan."

Cosmetic touch ups on Hillary could rival the deficit!
