Either you people need professional help, or there's "conspiracies" everywhere.

I remember that for years I thought conservatives were mean spirited and only cared about number one. I finally grew up and became one and a card carrying member of the Republican party. Once I did, I couldn't believe I ever had fallen for the line of the democrats as mentioned in the beginning of my post.
Lately however, as I read more and more posts from people here on FR who are supposed to be conservatives all working toward the same goal, I can now see why I thought this. Some of you are very mean spirited, calling names, and just plain only caring about your pet projects.

I don't pretend to agree with every decision the President has made because I don't. However, I do agree enough with his general policies, and his character to support him even when I don't get my way.
Am I the only one who recalls Bush saying he wanted prescription drugs for seniors while he was running? He did, and yet you seem surprised that he kept that promise! He is the President of this country, not just your personal puppet, to do all of your bidding.

You want to see socialist? Stick around. If Hillary Clinton reaches her goal and becomes the first female dictator of this country, you will see socialism. What this President is doing is not socialism, it is being the representative of a very large population of citizens who each have different needs and desires. I am not selfish enough to think he is going to do everything I want.

It's socialism..

And it doesn't matter if Dubya is doing it Hillary is doing it, the bill is still going to have to be paid.

If you don't like me for being upset about this and think I am "mean" only care about my "pet projects" go right ahead.

Maybe you're too old to care.. You can just reap the benefits and then drop dead.

But I, and a bunch of people I know are going to have to pay for this.

I am not happy about it and if that's "mean" then I suppose I am just "mean"

I don't know what else to tell you.

Yes.

Politicians will lie, cheat and steal to get elected. We got a politician when we were hoping for some adult leadership.

And you aren't a political naif either ! BRAVA ... you actually understand far more than you give yourself credit for.

It's the dog in the manger so called " Conservatives ", who abjure political reality in favor of childish day dreams, who are neither Conservative, nor capable of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. What the really, really, REALLY want is a benevolent tyrant with all encompassing power; the powers and the will to wave a magic wand and do whatever it is ( and IMMEDIATELY ! ) they yearn for. What they'll get, if they aren't careful, is yes, Hillary and/or someone just as bad, if not worse, than she is.

Good response, ladyinred. Bushbashing seems to be a popular sport here these days. Too bad. He's not perfect, never was, never will be, but he's the best man for the job, IMHO. We will never find the perfect president. They just don't exist.
