Inmate tries to escape through jail cell window (won't fit 'cause he's too fat!)

An inmate who tried to escape from the Elkhart County Jail got stuck in the window of his jail cell. Sheriff Michael Books says the window was not big enough to allow the inmate through.

Books says the jail was secured in minutes, and firefighters were called in to remove the inmate from the window.

The inmate's name has not been released. He was taken under guard to Goshen General Hospital last night for treatment of cuts. Books says more details are expected to be released tomorrow.

Now he can claim prejudice that the windows were too small for him, but not for thinner prisoners. He'll collect a few hundred-thousand from the county/state in settlement.
