These stock phrases were used by the Soviet press in their heyday.

The Scumbag Administration perfected a variation of this kind of psy-ops during its eight years of scandal:
"The American people think that...."
"The American people want to us to continue our work for them and...."
"The American people believe that...."

Every time a mouse from the Scumbag Administration appeared on TV, you could count on hearing what the American people really thought.
