Why? Because many in that area don't like interlopers coming into their territory, tearing through their land? Good to see many in the area are willing to fly the flag of their ancestors, even if it does upset pansies like John Walsh

Let's don't let everyone know how beautiful those mountains are.
Last time I was there the tourist was all over the area.
When I was growing up we had a cabin in Grandfather Mountain. It got so crowded, we soon moved our summer place to the White Top Mountain area.
We still go often to our home place in the valley.
North Carolina is the most beautiful place in the world.
