Good reminder. I remember the early articles on clinton's psychology. It's always dangerous to try to analyze somebody, but there's plentiful evidence that a) clinton is a narcissistic sociopath with no true feelings about anyone but himself; and b) clinton is unable to think logically.

Clinton's basic inability to think rationally is evident if you actually READ any of his speeches. They are disordered, incoherent, contradictory. They are a collection of comments rather than an organized discussion moving toward some end.

What's strange is that so many millions of seemingly intelligent people can listen to this garbage and not understand what they are really hearing. It leads to the second conclusion: that liberals are no longer capable of analytical thought either. Their desires blind their reason. Otherwise they would surely see that although there are phrases, clauses, and sometimes whole sentences in clinton's speeches that make sense, the speeches themselves rarely make sense--and then, presumably, only because somebody else wrote them.

I would argue that liberals are a self-selected group and that the illogic is congenital. One has to be logically deficient to fall for that tripe in the first place.

One of the greatest frauds of the 20th Century is the media's constant repetition that Clinton is a "wonderful speaker." His speeches are exactly as you have described them...laundry lists and banal comments, with no coherent theme and certainly lacking in poetry.

I was not impressed with his speechwriters, and in his desire for perfection and detail (as discussed in the Edith Efron article) he was always making last minute additions and changes, making the speech even more incoherent.

Yet week after week, month after month, year after year, Chris Matthews, Judy Woodruff, Tim Russert and the rest kept telling us he was a wonderful speaker.

It was and is a fraud.

I agree with you about the twofold nature of the pathology. Here, I believe Efron missed the mark.

clinton's cognitive dysfunction was sufficient to doom his presidency, but 9/11 required the synergy created by both dysfunctions-- cognitive and psychopathic.
