They were mentioning Hefner Road on CNN...I didn't catch all they were saying, but I thought they were indicating a tornado there, now?

One KOCO reporter said that stop signs were falling from the sky at his location (I didn't hear exactly where).
I can't bring up a live stream yet - I'm working on it.

I have always been fascinated with severe weather and tornados, I would love to be a storm chaser, but when you are faced with a large tornado comeing at you and you can see it coming at you, its the kind of fear you can feel in your chest.

now heading up the turner turnpike. Here at my house...just missed us...but we have some limbs and we have had 2 inches of rain in 30 minutes. My house is flooding. Wonderful.

This is unbelieveable. These tornadoes must be massive the way they are talking with debris flying everywhere.

Why is it that people in the south dont have basements, is the water table high there?
Everyone in Nebraska has one.
I grew up in Ponca City, OK; dead center in "Tornado Alley"...although Ponca itself
has hardly ever been hit.
Many older farmsteads have "cellars" next to the farmhouse which doubled as
a place for canned preserves and a storm cellar for tornado season.
Quite a few homes in the area also have basements; the high school in nearby
Blackwell, OK is bermed (nearly half underground) as the previous structure was
blown away (probably 30-40 years ago).
In my first 18 years of life (all in Ponca City)...I never once saw a tornado
in person.

I wondered how you were doing. We don't even have any rain here in Norman.

PKM:
WE were missed by a short distance. But we have had 2 inches of rain in the past 30 minutes. My atrium in the center of the house is flooding. Water in the house. "Wonderful". Strong, strong winds. Limbs down. Lots of lightening. Wild ride. But not as bad as I thought.

Tornado headed for Channel 9 -- Gary England just said to get people out of the studio!
PhiKapMom...good to see you dodged the bullet again. Hope this stuff stops soon.
Ah, but I do have a bit of an adrenalin/nostalgia rush hearing about Gary England in
action during tornado season!
