Top 10 reasons for President Bush's Re-election
May 4, 2002
Posted on 05/04/2003 7:25:38 AM PDT by paul in cape
1. Dubya doesn't have to deal with George Mitchell purposely sabotaging the economy ("forcing" 41 to break his "No New Taxes" pledge in exchange for a cut in spending, which, of course, never materialized.)
2. If there's a 3rd party candidate, it will come from the left, not the right.
3. Dubya has kept every promise, and is seen as a moral leader. The public cares about this now. They did not in 1992.
4. Dubya was an unknown running against a known quantity with a good economy as a backdrop. Now he's a known positive quantity, while the Dem candidates all have suspect backgrounds one way or another.
5. National platforms. The Repubs control the White House and both houses of congress. The Dems just look like whiners.
6. Judicial Obstruction. While the unprecidented filibuster of judicial nominees may play well in NYC and LA, most people see it for what it is. Meanwhile, more conservative judges are taking their seats, while liberal judges continue to be overturned.
7. The 'Rats have all the vulnerable seats in the 2004 elections. They'll probbly lose 3-4 in the Senate, and 15-20 in the House. Can anyone say "COATTAILS?"
8. Bush has put back in play New York and California electorally. The 'Rats will have to spend a fortune just to hold those 2, which Dubya doesn't really need, leading to
9. The Rats spending a ton of money in the primaries, with little left for the general election.
10.AND THE BEST. I can't imagine anyone who voted for Dubya NOT voting for him again, while those who held their nose and voted for ALGORE are most certainly firmly encamped with the President now. The neo-commies will still vote for the 'Rats, but the great middle loves this President.

In the upcoming democratic primary (2004) ...
BIG AL NEEDS OUR HELP! - Register as a democrat and vote for Crazy Al!
Rev. Al Sharpton is officially running for president in 2004.
During the May 3, 2003 demoncrap debate in Columbia, S.C., our man Al stated The way to move a donkey is to slap the donkey, and Im going to slap the donkey until the donkey kicks.
Lets help Crazy Al slap the donkey until it kicks.
Assume GW has the Republican nomination sewn up. Its time for all good republicans, libertarians, and independents to stand up and be counted. Lets take a page from Sen. McCains play book. Prior to the 2004 democratic presidential primary in your state, re-register as a democrat and vote for Al Sharpton!
Wouldnt it be great if Crazy Al won! At the very least, lets ensure he gets prime time speaking rights at the 2004 nationally televised democratic convention. You gotta love it. Line up, sign up, and send this to all your like-minded friends.
In case youd like to send Big Al a donation:

Dubya was an unknown running against a known quantity with a good economy as a backdrop. Now he is a known quantity running with a poor economy as a backdrop. That could hurt.

BIG AL NEEDS OUR HELP! - Register as a democrat and vote for Crazy Al! After thinking of doing this, I've decided that it's not a good idea (although it would be fun.)
Al isn't really a threat to the eventual winner. In fact, he will help that person out by giving him his "Sister Soldier Moment," showing the undecided that he can stand up to the special interest that control the 'Rats.
Better Sharpton becomes marginalized and has a hissy-fit for not being taken seriously, and his supporters stay home.
I'm planning on voting for Howard Dean in the primary. He certainly is unelectable, but will cause all sorts of problems for JFK (who I think will be the nominee).

Bill Clinton as Commander-in-Chief...
George W. Bush as Commander-in-Chief...
Any Questions?

1. he supports the federal ban on assault weapons like his spokesman says he will.
2. he doesn't do something about controlling the borders.
3. he doesn't manage to lower taxes like he promised instead of small incremental changes.
4. he continues to promote bigger government instead of smaller goverment.
5. he tries to ride the coattails of the Iraqi war for re-election like his daddy did with the first Gulf war.
6. he carries through with the Patriot Act II.

No, there are others. Most are just afraid to speak out. There's a lot to like with Bush. But lost in all that are these very relevant and very important issues. Most people who post here are smart. If they want to, they'll take their heads out of the sand and take a long look. By criticizing how Bush has done or not done what he's needed to do with those issues, we aren't belittling what he has done. He's done many things well. But we MUST be sure our Constitution is upheld. We must be diligent, no matter who is in charge.

Sure. There is a lot to like. But, as you say, we must be cognizant of, and realize the priorities of, other issues. There is a lot of bread and circuses that shouldn't distract us.

He's perceived as a prez that doesn't pussy-foot around. Even the islamic countries who dare criticize us about 911 shut up, that is in the American media. Islamics are known to favor strength over clintoonian wussieness.

Nobody's perfect. 'W''s lowered taxes, more to come
Cutting taxes will shrink govt. not far down the line...he sure as hell isn't a proponent of bigger govt. 'W' wanted private airport screeners, not govt. workers.
How do we propose to protect the borders without growing government? It's not feasible. The Patriot Act might help catch the undesirables. Creating an environment so that Mexicans don't need to earn money here will help limit overwhelming numbers.
What indications do you have that he's riding coatails of the war? Do you think this man is stupid, unable to learn from his father's mistakes?
You've named some tough nuts to crack, but if anyone can solve it, it's this team.

To: paul in cape
You forget one thing. Repubs and Conservatives will stay home in droves, just like in '98 when we had the Klintoon on the ropes, about to be impeached, and we couldn't turn out and send a mandate via the election. We are too lazy/complacent to gain true power. Sigh.
To: GummyIII
I'm with you............
The hideous Patriot Act is enough to stop me from considering him as a candidate.
we MUST be sure our Constitution is upheld.
