Politics of personal destruction never goes out of style, does it?
As vices go, this is fairly harmless, given he's not impairing his family's finances.
I assume there's an inside-the-beltway reason this is coming out now...perhaps to keep him out of a W2 administration?

The lefties hate Bennett because he can come across as sanctimonious. He had to know this would come out. It's funny to me, how many devout Catholics are gamblers. I got to the Italian festival sponsored by the local diocese and people are betting up a storm. It's wierd to me because my (Methodist) parents hate gambling and think it a massive character flaw. For years I couldn't bring myself to stick a quarter in a Pac Man machine because they ingrained in me that even that was a waste of money

Maybe he should just say that he is participating in voluntary taxation "for the children" or something. LOL
Actually, I hope he is embarrassed by this exposure and quits. That's doesn't make anything he's said in the past false. Truth is truth, regardless of the messenger.

"I assume there's an inside-the-beltway reason this is coming out now...perhaps to keep him out of a W2 administration?" Methinks ye be onto the trail of the monster, me lad.
My wife and I get sucked into the casino way to often - it's a hard habit to break.
But I wouldn't want to know it if Bill were out squandering big money in Vegas in his off time as the Sec of Ed. - it just wouldn't set right with me.
True it's his money.
You just can't depend on ANY gubberment (or for that matter anyone) public figure as a role model beyond reproach anymore. For that matter - reproach isn't even considered anymore in a morally deficient society, irregardless of what brand or label of political party one might wear.
