Interesting live footage on CNN
Posted on 04/12/2003 9:27:32 PM PDT by saquin
CNN reporter Brent Sadler traveling on a road very near Tikrit. The retired military officer in the studio keeps telling him to be careful. I find these live shots very nerve-wracking. It seems rather foolish for a reporter to be doing this, considering that Tikrit is a Saddam stronghold. Just a heads-up in case anyone is interested.

We can go to bed, they just chickened out. They rolled around the outskirts of town, milked it, and now they are going to stay on the outskirts.
Not that I blame 'em.

I wonder if their presence could interfere with some special ops operation? Could get hairy in that case.

OK, I gotta ask a silly question. What if their gasoline gets low? Do they just pull in to the local Saddam petrol station and whip out the Visa?

They could ask for directions too.......
So they heard some explosions. What are they worried about, everytime they go near a truck they could really hear some explosions.

nope..they turned back towards Tikrit and are heading into the muck

It's 7-vehicle convoy. They may be carrying gas, or as the reporter would say, petrol. Or they may have a range of 300-400 miles on their tanks, so they know how far they can go.

no, they are moving again, towards a road junction 2 miles from the city. they are going to try and get a roadside interview with someone at that point.
