See? That's my point. Even if someone had a supposely legitimate reason to ban some group of firearms that are especially dangerous, the AW ban does not do that. Instead, it bans certain firearms based on primarily cosmetic bases. It is bad law, and is a typical liberal law, as it doesn't actually accomplish anything, but it allows liberals to "show they care" by passing a symbolic law.

With all due respect (and I offer due respect), it does accomplish something. It accomplishes the show of precedent that the the feds can ban anything, in all the fifty states (for example a particular class of -x- (guns, drugs, etc.) for reasons as irrelevant as the way they look). For any reason they want.
And that many of the American people will swallow it whole. Present company excepted, of course.
