I'm not sure about this, but I've been told you can get internet service from some direct satellite services. Not the greatest, but faster than modem and near DSL.

Yes, I've checked them all. SAT ISP want you to pop for about $500 of equipment and 1 year committment. They also throttle you down if you download to much.

Star Band does satellite. I have that in my place out in the boonies. No complaints.
