You gals just dont realize that the changes that happen to a woman with childbirth do not detract from her beauty

I'd venture that most of you ladies are, like SoldiersGirl and Mrs. U, much more diligent about "maintenance" (the gym and the treadmill) than we guys are...

Much kudos to you all -- we love you!

Interesting column on the editorial page of today's Wall Street Journal about why the French and Belgian governments have acted the way they have: fear of Moslem riots, followed by a swing of the electorate to the extreme right.

This is a love palace? I've got better at home
This was one of the innermost sanctums of the Saddam regime — a pink chiffon hideaway where the dictator’s playboy son Uday appears to have entertained his numerous, defenceless, sexual “conquests”.

Two minutes south along the Tigris from Saddam’s giant Republican Palace, the sight of Arabian nights minarets, heart-shaped pillows and a swimming pool with in-pool bar are the first indications that this is no ordinary Hussein family residence. As a symbol of excess deposed, it cannot be bettered.

The gilt-edged glass goblets with which the voracious Uday once tempted young girls now lie shattered by an American shell that has ripped the heart out of the pleasure dome.

I thought it was an interesting article, too. I have a Belgian friend who says that Belgium, when she goes back to visit family, looks like downtown [Arab city of your choice].

Still, I thought the argument that somehow Belgian anti-Americanism was just meant to attack the "swing to the extreme right" was a little disingenuous, and sounded like hasty covering of the posterior.

They weree on some horror show I saw once, I think.

Long ago, I put a sign on my wife's "workout room" -- "Little House of Horrors." After helping her move "the rack" and other assorted devices in, I haven't returned...
