Probably a RCA. They self destruct.

My parent's RCA television set gave up the ghost a couple years ago when it was about 8-10 years old, but it had survived a power surge a couple years before that which damaged a VCR, fried a fluorescent ballast and shot the plastic part of its plug from the wall, and fused another light bulb to its socket.
