Tancredo said if the United States wasn't "providing health care for the third world," it might not have such financial problems.

Makes sense to me. But the fact that it makes sense ensures that it will not be done.

Why don't we emphasize skill requirements and accept immigrants who will be self sufficient instead of someone who has no skill, trade, schooling, whatever...and what has he done to ensure that?

This move will only make government hungrier for more money. It will also give no incentive for government to become more efficient.

Also, why not go after the people who come her illegally? For every day they stayed here in American illegally that's how much time they should give back with community service, then be deported.

Why not have the immigrant pay it back when they get a job?

This move simply wants to stop immigration, period. There is no other real reason. It's not money at all. It's also meant to stop sponsors who can't afford the fiscal burden from bringing anyone who is not economically desirable. But that assumes that all who are not wealthy have no skill to offer.

Let's be fair. Get the money back once the immigrant becomes productive and self-sufficient. This will teach them responsibility. Also, get the money back from citizens who use government services too. Also, I want all the my money back that went to govenment services that I never used!
