Its too bad we over 35 can't join. I would seriously think about joining right now.

The next thing I know is that Doughty one has taken the best of them and made them into this great banner. It is amazing how Free Republic works! It sure is amazing. Nearly instantaneous electronic activism at one's finger tips, leading to action in the streets. We do make a difference.

Why put off the inevitable? I say to the forces of evil - BRING IT ON. There's no reason to put this off to future generations, while we're the ones trained in the art of war as well as the ones who have the stomach to put that training to good use.

Just think of the folly of this. Invade the U.S., right. 2 million in the various armed forces, and 50+ million gun owners.
Come and Get It fools.

Sure the UN could invade the US and use force of arms to do so. PeeWee Herman can punch Mike Tyson in the face too.
Similar results could be expected except PeeWee might recover.

I know it is sophomoric to deride his physical features--but he ain't purdy to look at either.
From Ratners lament on his Web site:
>>They are sent to Egypt and Jordan where these agencies engage in interrogation tactics such as torture and threats to families that are illegal in the United States. <<
When one breaks the law, and becomes a criminal, anything can happen! If I decided to sell a narcotic so I could make megabucks---I would be entering a dangerous, risky world where no law rules. I would have to live with the consequences of my decision to be a criminal.
So it's their own damn fault if they ended up in the mess they are in, if they are truly not guilty of terrorism.

It is really amazing. Free Republic is becoming a really worthy adversary of the forces of evil here and around the world.
I have pinged EBuck to show us how thoughts on Free Republic become hard hitting bill boards against the enviralists who create the situations for wild fires!

I am sticking with it will never get voted because of the naked emperors concept.
What really has to be nipped in the bud is the law professors who THINK this is even a serious possibility. They also have to stop teaching this as viable at the law schools. If given 1/2 a chance the left would sell out the USA.

Oh, no...I didn't mean to imply you shouldn't be making the leap...And it was obviously a fruitful leap! I just wondered if I had missed something in the ad.

The U.N. taking military action against the U.S.? With whose troops? Most UN actions have been disproportionately carried out by US troops in the past 40 yrs. Who're they going to call on to attack us?

What I want the UN should know is the "lock and load" boys would be all over these idiots in a heartbeat!! If the UN wants war - let them attack the USA and see what happens - there will be blood in the streets and the UN bldg. will be the first to go.
I know that sounds harsh - but these "doves" do not have the slightest idea what they're doing. They cannot face an actual bully (Iraq), so what makes them think they will be able to take on the USA. They must be joking!! These people don't have any stomach for war - look at what they've been doing for the past 12 years with Iraq - and they think they are going to scare the USA ...?? don't make me laugh!

This is laughable. Even if the UN had the forces in sufficient numbers and capabilities to make the attempt, it would be another decade, at least, before they could decide on it's use.

unilateral rush to war- RATner
If he actually believes this, then he's psychotic. Truly psychotic. If he knows it's a lie but repeats it endlessly anyway, he's amoral human scum.
To: longtermmemmory
Ratner, who also teaches at the Columbia University Law School, told WND that the idea of invoking the resolution "came up when I started thinking about the fact that we could get into a situation where the U.S. may go to war without a Security Council resolution or with a veto." Gee, I wonder why Ratner didn't come up with this brilliant idea when Clinton declared war on Milosevic's regime without a UN resolution?
