They desperately need money. They'd already have 2 billion if the democrats were in office.

What is the matter with Bush? Why won't he just take care of N. Korea once and for all, as he doesn't seem to be working on Iraq any longer. (Just my opinion)

"By the end of the year, I predict Bush will be in Pyongyang suing for peace," he said. Could be true, if there is a Pyonyang left, otherwise he'll have whoever survived as their "leader" signing some form of surrender agreement on a pile of ashes that was once their capital....

These guys need to chill out.
The good news is, their missiles can reach Hollywood, but Orange County is out of range.

They must realize what such an action would cause to happen? They can't be THAT nuts.

They seem to be 3 year olds, throwing temper tantrums if they are not the center of attention.

They don't even understand the significance of pulling our troops out. If a country threatens us with a nuclear strike and we pull our troops back, that means we are keeping ALL options open.
Having Star Wars in orbit a few years ago would have been damn useful about now. Thanks, libs.

They want attention and to make the U.S. the problem as Condi Rice stated. But the surrounding community must bring pressure upon them by speaking with one voice and that is how we are handling them. Once we go to war in Iraq, there will be no room for false moves.
To: vannrox
There is no way they have the knowledge to launch an ICBM from N.Korea( even if Clintoon gave it to them via China ) and have the guidance system to HIT a target as far as San Francisco .Launching a missle is much different than launching a missle with a functional nuclear warhead .. The missle would be intercepted and there would be a retaliatory attack that would end all this crap.
Best scenerio is the missle would detonate 1/2 mile above the launch pad and send them back to the stone age by their own hand .

"What is the matter with Bush? Why won't he just take care of N. Korea once and for all, as he doesn't seem to be working on Iraq any longer. (Just my opinion) "I think he is still working on Iraq, although he is going slower than we would like in an apparently unsuccessful effort to get the nine votes that would make the veto crowd look like cowards.
And our priority remains, Iraq. Iraq has attacked us and others. NKorea has not, except with so many words and that plane intercept thing the other day.
I don't know what the right way to handle NKorea is. A preemptive strike makes sense, but do you do it now when they may not even have a bomb? Or do you do it 6 months from now when they may only have 1-3 and the US has more missle defense systems in place.
Secondly, China and Russia have refused to help us solve the Iraq problem. Despite their talk, NKorea is a bigger threat to China and Russia than they are to the US. And the US is doing nothing to help denuke NKorea, openly stating that they prefer to leave it to the "regional powers".
Now I don't agree that we should leave it with the regional powers forever, but you have to love the irony of the Chinese and Russians sweating over NKorea while they left us out on a limb with Iraq.

He is jealous that we are paying more attention to Iraq than him at the moment. He wants to prove to all the other roosters in the barnyard that he is not afraid of the eagle circling overhead.

Are they? And I don't mean in day to day dealings, but in this context specifically. Would any nuclear armed country with a delivery means accept any such attack without a nuclear strike in return? That's the main reason for nukes, as an insurance policy.
