Hollywood celebrities have become the most visible opponents of liberating Iraq. But as proof that where you stand depends on whether your friends are in power, let's look back at how those same celebrities reacted when Bill Clinton deployed U.S. power in Afghanistan, Sudan and Kosovo.

Their silence will speak volumes.... and they will remain silent until they begin working overtime to "help" us, who they consider the great unwashed, elect Hillary.

Their silence will speak volumes....

Actually, I feel that their collective braying is very shallow.

Let's see how many of these anti-Bush / Supposedly "anti-war" slack-jawed morons are willing to pump their untold millions down the rathole of what is soon to become the failed Democrat presidential campaign.

Has anyone heard replies from those in Hollywood who did absolutely nothing when Clinton was dropping his bombs?

They just hate the president.

"Just so you know," says [Dixie Chicks] singer Natalie Maines, "we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas..."

That about sums it up. It's all about Bush.

Yes...I noticed the braying of the Hollywood celebrities trying to "help" us re-elect Gray Davis as governor...and their deafening silence when, a couple of months after his re-election, he announced something that he'd been keeping quiet about...a $35+ billion deficit. Oh, the echoing silence!

Did she really say that? Which Dixie Chick is that? The fat one?

Man--had not heard that. By the looks of the 2nd thread you posted--the Dixie Chicks have been flamed back by their fans.

Maines further stated, "I feel the President is ignoring the opinions of many in the U.S. and alienating the rest of the world. My comments were made in frustration and one of the privileges of being an American is you are free to voice your own point of view."

And yes--Maines is the fat one.

Mike Farrell addressed a question about this very subject during an online interview. He gave a weak, though fairly articulate, response justifying his "begrudging" support of the Bosnian conflict.

Hollywood stars were oddly silent when Mr. Clinton dropped bombs on Afghanistan and an aspirin factory in Sudan in 1998 in an unsuccessful attempt to deter Osama bin Laden

I agree with everything in this article except for this statement. Mr. Clinton bombed Afghanistan and the aspirin factory for the sole purpose of covering his ass in grand jury testimony where he said "depends on what the meaning of the word is is". The fact that Bin Laden nor any of his aides were scratched is proof of that.

I actually heard a brain dead anti-war activist on a KC radio station this morning... Of course, the usual drivvel came out of her pie-hole... "War is bad..." "No blood for oil..." "Our scientists are bright enough to build all these bombs: We need to be brigher to come up with a better way." etc...

Anyway, a caller asked her flat out when it was appropriate for us to intervene in a foreign land for humanatarian reasons:

Her response was, "When there's no national interest for the United States!" Ann Coulter is right! The only wars that these leftists support are those that are NOT in the interest of the US!
