Djindjic was supported by the Clinton Administration because he was a willing "yes" man. However, due to the continued violence by pro-KLA elements, he at long last began to buck the UN and KFOR and publicly criticize their policies in Kosovo a few weeks ago, even suggesting the province be partioned between Serbs & Albanians. The UN & KFOR have been trying to appease the local population and avoid the issue, claiming it is "too early" to discuss Kosovo's final status. Now, all of a sudden, he winds up dead. Maybe coincidence, maybe not. Let's wait and see.
