Being ?in the know? is extremely important because everyone has an opinion to express, and everyone strives to support opinions with the freshest facts from a favorite media source and journalist

So what's wrong with that? Beats the hell outta being surrounded by the brain dead, Oprah following morons that make up the bulk of this country these days...

Anyone who has ever been in the military knows such an order would absolutely never be relayed over the radio.

This report is rubbish. The reporter who made it up obviously knows nothing whatsoever about the military.

BTW: Drudge linked to this story as well. He should pull it ASAP, just to protect his own credibility.

he heard the order being relayed to U.S. fighter-jet pilots

Why would this order be given to pilots?
Commanders, maybe.
But I would think pilots would be given the GO at the last minute.
The need-to-know is low, I think.

Actually, ancient Persia is modern Iraq and Iran put together. Baghdad was the capital of Persia at one point.

Happy Purim! My coworkers don't know it yet, but I'm making Hamentashen for them. :)

Persia is modern IRAN.

OK. But at the time of Esther, Persia was a great empire. So, I reckon part of the empire slopped over into Iraq? Just asking.

To quote Jimmy Malone from the Untouchables - Hussein "is going to hang higher than Haman."

Agreed. Pure BS. There would be NO reason to relay this fact to aircraft in flight. All other communications would be secure voice or message traffic.

Yes, I hardly think battle plans would be transmitted in the blind, where anybody with a radio receiver can intercept it. They will use really secure communications to do it.
