I would not dismiss China easily. A free market requires two things - commitment and size. They may get there internally because of their size. And there is not a thing that we could do about it. Even they may do better than us. We have to coordinate with many other countries to get the same size. Also the smaller internal size pushes politicians in favor of monopolies. Monopolies kill the free market though. We need major efforts in that direction.

A free market requires two things - commitment and size.A free market also requires freedom. Individual freedom to innovate & create and freedom to enjoy the rewards due to those individuals who take chances.
Until the Chinese people enjoy this kind of freedom China will remain nothing more than the world's assembly line.
