I agree with you. The answer is yes. And the motive, I believe, is as sinister as it gets.

There would be no point staying in schools, said the Iraqis, because the schools would be closed, and the Americans wouldn't attack hospitals anyway. Ya know, it says a lot when the Iraqis have to defend the U.S. against Canadian rhetoric. :-)

Oh, this one is excellent! Chuckles and schadenfreude galore.

It gradually occurred to them, he said, that they were being "used" for propaganda purposes. Ya mean lentils, bongos, flutes, double decker buses & hummus weren't the path to Human Shield glory?

Were it not true, this article would be hilarious. Sadly, Bruce is no where near alone.
Are they trying to produce a whole generation of Bruce McRaes?
They already have.

I believe the modern educators have not considered this, as they are fundamental communists/pacifists that have not gone to Bahgdad yet themselves to see that there is another evil agenda besides their own, where they could get killed in the process of destroying American freedom, and not by the peace loving Americans they hate so much.Speaking for myself and other educators I'd just like to say: Them's fightin' words.
I'm not a Communist, neither am I a pacifist, and while I know teachers who are against the war, many others are for it.
You keep spewing generalizations like that in a bar and some irate gym teacher is going to put your head through a wall.
To: Zeroisanumber
Why don't you use your threatening talk on the educators that are giving you a bad name, tough guy!
Of course not all educators are the same, but too many of the educators that I come into contact with ARE this way, and if and when fighting goes down in our streets, they will be my first targets. Like shooting fish in a barrel, beings how most of THEM are anti-gun too. Don't want a liberal whiner borrowing my rifle, just too have it jam, or have him shoot me in the back, like he has in his politics!

"It's also pathetic to think that some of these anti-America folks think that putting on plays of Lysistrata can have an effect on things."
My neighbor was quite proud of attending the local presentation of Lysistrata until I told her to be sure and let me know, because I was sure the media would miss covering it, when the wives of Islam would be able to withhold sex and keep on breathing.

where no war ever needs to be fought, where every international controversy can be settled by goodwill and rational negotiation Everyone should be required to see Terry Gilliam's movie, Baron Munchausen. There's a wonderful character who embodies this attitude.

[I] wonder how many words were rejected by the editor before they agreed on "naiveté"I was thinking that too. The London Telegraph is supposed to be, or at least used to be, a frankly conservative newspaper, but now they try too hard to be middle of the road.
The word naiveté seems hard to argue with but explains nothing. Extreme anti-Americanism explains more.

"They all shared one trait," reported the London Telegraph. It was "naivete." More like "stupidete."

"I never tire of human shields articles bump." Me too! With all the serious news to keep abreast of, the human shields fiasco provides much needed comic relief.
