Actually, they are not sick. They are quite sane.
The Allgemeine SS were quite sane as well as they herded Jews into gas chambers. Heinrich Himmler and Reinhard Heydrich were rational men, family men.
Yet they did what they did, without remorse.
Al Qaeda is merely fanatic enough to justify the mass killing of children in their own minds. This has happened before in history. In killing the Jews, Hitler believed he was doing "...the Lord's work."
Al Qaeda is of the same coin. This is another reason why they must be hunted down and exterminated to the last man.
