By Lisa Myers NBC NEWS WASHINGTON, March 6 — The FBI is conducting an intensive hunt for potential “sleeper cells” of Iraqi agents planted to strike in the event of war after two attachés at Iraq’s U.N. mission in New York were caught filming bridges and tunnels, U.S. officials told NBC News. At least 70 Iraqi nationals are under active surveillance, law enforcement officials said, and agents have spread out to interview thousands of Iraqi men in an attempt to track down hundreds who came to the United States after the 1991 Gulf War and disappeared.

Its actually the Iraqi Mission to the United Nations. The diplomatic representation to the United Nations.

Cables on suspension bridges are several feet in diameter - unless they're going to "cut" them with a bomb...nothing's getting cut.

I heard of a plot to crash gasoline tanker trucks on the bridges. This was last week and it had to with recent arrests overseas.

He is a dispatcher in the command post for Security and believe me the museum is very well fortified and is quite aware when the police or any law enforcement is in the area especially around the Iraqi Mission. The Museum also has a camera watching the Iraqi Mission.

Yep, if we visualize peace, the sleepers will become our friends and then go home. Ted and Tom and Joe would never lie to us...

But if we leave Iraq alone, all those sleepers will leave us alone--won't they? I'm sure they will because Ted Kennedy, Tom Daschole, and Joe LIEberman all say so, and they wouldn't lie to us would they?

Whenever it has sought to attack the United States itself, Iraq has preferred to rely on its own operatives. Thus, Iraqi agents—not terrorist proxies—were involved in attempted bombings of U.S. facilities in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia during the first Gulf War.

What is the difference between these agents and Ramzi Yousef and Khalid Sheik Mohammed, authors of the first and second WTC attacks, respectively?

Kicking "diplomats" out is not done on a whim, and we followed it up by notifying foreign governments of the danger.

There was an attache in the Phillipines, I think, who was kicked out earlier this year because he was found to have had dealings with the local Muslim terrorist groups. Sounds like these guys were doing something similar.

Once again, Middle Eastern men taking pictures of dams, bridges, and whatever...

Fair notice to our guests from Middle Eastern countries...

...if you are roughed up by an over-enthusiatic bunch of US citizens while you
are videotaping nuclear plants, oil refineries, tall buildings and the like...

DON'T expect ANY jury in the United States of America to convict those who club you...

Not saying I advocate "jury nullification"...
...just given y'all practical advice so you can go back to Iraq, France, Germany, Belgium...
you know, one of those Islamic Republics.

Probably the best advice is to just turn yourself in and hope you get a free stay
in beautiful, tropical Guantanamo Bay!

You know? It rattles me too, on the Benicia bridge, the Golden Gate and the Bay Bridge... how stupid is this? We shouldn't have them there at all, and I know I will be slammed for this one... what a no brainer. It is sickening to me!

And we can tell this holds true 100% how? We've had reports of illegal muslims posing as illegal Mexicans... I don't care what they are, we can't be sure so let's not trust them in certain postions unless they are cleared, profiling or not! Slam away...

I live in New York City and well remember that the Iraqi mission to the UN was the only diplomatic mission that didn't lower its flag to half-staff right after 9/11.
It was given much play in the local newspapers at the time.

Don't you just wonder what GWB really knows about things like this that he can't tell the howling press? This is a war.

I can tell you from my former experience when holding a high Top Secret clearance: our President knows far more, and far more scary, things than anybody in the press has any concept of.

And where do you think the post 9/11 anthrax came from?

If that anthrax did NOT come courtesy of Saadumb, I'll eat my hat.
