Ack! She really WAS a correspondent? Good grief...well, I thought is was just another of those innumerable times when a beautiful woman walks up to you claiming to be a national correspondent and cadging a beer. You know, it happens hundreds of times...well, a number of times, actually...an integer between zero and two...

I type this deep behind enemy lines, on the road in Silicon Valley. I'll be wresting a certain Very Large Disk Drive corporation's machines to my will to check in later today and again tonight, beer in hand, pretty much as you see me up there (egad, who is that old geek?).

The real list of FR luminaries is to be found with nicks other than mine, but I certainly say "hi" and send cyber-hugs to all the above, who are high on that list. Sluuuuuuurp! This here California coffee sure is weak...shoulda throwed in the carpet sweepings like I do at home...

What a place FR has become. I learn something every time I log in, no lie. Thanks to all for being my personal tutors in things that are very important in life - honor, grace, cordiality, political and social discourse, and the ability to lay down a squeeze bunt with the slowest guy on the team on third base. Life skills.

More later - my ride is here. I have to drop her off at supermodel school before my own classes. But I know she's gonna be there when I get back - she's holding my wallet to make sure...
