Disgusting.

This story has been percolating for a few days now. First on the blogs, then the Wall St. Journal editorial page, and now Fox.

Thank goodness we don't need to rely on "Mainstream" journalists to get this story out.

"I'd say a miniscule minority seems to have hit some kind of public nerve and is bouncing across Web pages and chat rooms in the United States," said MEA spokesman Keith Harvie. "It's a bit astounding to think that some comments which, I should note, have only been alleged and haven't been proved or demonstrated, are causing such a ruckus."

Yeah, I'd say that verbally and mentally assaulting the 7 and 8 year old children of our military might just "hit some kind of public nerve".

If this kind of two-faced, pompous comment doesn't expose the NEA and their member groups as the cancerous, lecherous blights on society that they are, I can't imagine what would.

After OReily carried it tonight, it will be uncovered in-depth. A lot more to this than the hush hush investigation has thus yielded. The whitewash damage control of the lib left is in full court press right now.

I am the son of a Desert Storm Vet, and in October of 2001 was severely injured while part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Far more traumatic than my severe injuries was the experience of having my father, a Guardsman ripped away from my family during the Christmas holidays and sent to war. The effect on myself and my family extended well into the future.

To think that a teacher would torment a student in this manner is uncomprehensible and unforgiveable. I watched the coverage on CNN'S Talk Back Live today and was disgusted to hear one of the ever present talking heads defending these teachers. He said they had a moral responsibility to discuss these issues because students were afraid. I can't help asking myself what would have happened if these students parents had been homosexual. I believe that these teachers should be firmly punished but I truly doubt that will happen. It has become apparent in recent years that we live in a society where service is demonized, and if you are a normal, functioning member of society you can expect no assistance from the lawyers and pundits.

My heart goes out to these families. I know things are hard right now, and unfortunately I know that in one way or another their lives have been changed permanently by this incident.

There should be a special circle of hell for an educator that would needlessly torment and already traumatized child over politics.

duke.albanese@maine.gov

Hereis the e-mail addy of the HMFIC (pardon my jarhead jargon)

I've yet to send him one because I'm torn between blistering his ears off his head and actually treating him with the respect he doesn't deserve for trying to worm around the fact that there have been at least thirty compliants. Urban math tells me for every one told there has to be at least ten more that the kids were so hurt they didn't say anything about the abuse from their teachers.

I'm a veteran with young childen. When I read this story I was so mad I was almost in tears. I remember very clearly the feeling I had when I had to go away on deployments. While you're on deployment you worry about your family. When you speak to your children from where ever you are, the first question is normaly "How is School?" The last thing you want to here from your child is "My teacher says you are bad man Daddy" I mean it's bad enough we have to worry about other kids picking on our children much less the freaken teachers.

Ever since 911 & the Iraq question I have quized my son about the conversations and topics covered by teachers in respect to those topics for fear of this very type of brianwashing.

I've been doing some research about Maine schools and I have found that all Maine teachers have to sign a pledge or an agreement that states that ridicule of students not based on performance is absolutley not allowed. The schools in my judgement would have solid grounds to dismiss the teachers that took part in this offence.

I want to see the faces and names. If it's true then I want to see them twisting in the wind as well.

They can't be fired. It's Maine. Democratic puke for gov. Democratic teacher's union. Tenure. Teachers are not evaluated on the basis of performance or ability. That's why little Johnny can't read, because his teacher went into teaching because she had no marketable job skills.

"The schools in my judgement would have solid grounds to dismiss the teachers that took part in this offence."

They would already have been dismissed had they expressed a conservative view point to the children of Maine Democratic liberals. It is the politics of the NEA and the State government of Maine which prevents that possibility. Each backs and serves the other.
