I know that a lot of people here think that China is just waiting at the chance to take back Taiwan through force, but I believe that it's not the case at all.

In ten years, Taiwan will be begging China for reunification.

Simple facts:

China's economy is like this: (zooming hands way up to the ceiling)

... and Taiwan's economy is like this (dropping hands to ankle-high)

In ten years, China's economy will have them seeing Taiwan as the sea-borne rockpile that it is. It might even be *China* that doesn't want to reunify.

Anyone who believes that China wants war with the US is someone who thinks that they want to tear 75% of their economy off and throw it in the trash. China is really enjoying their economy right now, and is smart enough not to screw it up. If they have a fault, it's that they'll sell almost anything to almost anyone for almost any reason.

Until someone can show me differently, fearing the military actions of China during the Gulf War a lot of Anti-Chinese paranoia.

I'm willing to listen, though.

You left out one very interesting phenomenia that has been happening between Taiwan and the ChiComs which really backs up your thesis.

I have been on a personal boycott of the ChiCom products since the Clintoons/Gorons struck it rich via the ChiComs.

I read the label where any product is made. If it was made in ChiCom land, I don't buy it.

In the last about 2 years, I keep running into all types of products made in both countries or in one country and marketed by the other country. So they are blending together to make and market products to be exported.

In ten years most of the old hard line commie will be buried and replaced with capitalists.
