I think Powell's argument, as Secretary of State, was that we needed to try to work things out through the UN first. Frankly, I think this has been a great counter to the "cowboy" caricature of George W. Bush just looking for war. After the passion in Powell's evidence speech to the UN, I have little doubth that he'll be right behind the war unless Saddam rolls over for the UN (or leaves).

Perhaps you haven't noticed but W is being tagged w/ that label any way. We should have been in and out of Iraq by now. Everyday the forces of stupidity gather strength.

I hear that Colin thinks he's got a majority in the Security Council and can prevent a veto, but my question is; if not, then what? If we intended to ignore the Security Council why bother giving them a vote on our national security issues?

I truly hope W has this all figured out, but I wonder sometimes.
