Worth repeating:
"The assistant deputy director of the Secret Service, Paul Irving, apologized for the misunderstanding in person, Al-Arian said, visiting him in the Capitol office of U.S. Rep. David Bonior, D-Mich., where Al-Arian works as an intern."
... any other Muslim terrorist suspects working as interns?

Since an apology was offered or given, the group should have had the courtesy to accept it and return. From what the young man said now he has a voice something his uncle had not had for the last three or four years? Give me a break!

Whoever made this "mistake" should get a promotion.

""The president is very concerned that an action was taken that was wrong, inappropriate, and the president apologizes for it on behalf of the White House," press secretary Ari Fleischer said. What's so wrong and inappropriate about taking a precaution with the son of an indicted terrorist leader? I read this article twice...am I missing something? The thread title says:,
Ejected Muslim gets an apology [USF prof's son asked to leave White House mtg in June 2001]
June 2001????

Article is a couple of years old. This was pre-9/11.

When Abdullah Al-Arian left the meeting, more than 20 Muslim leaders decided to walk out with him. Surely Al-Arian the Younger, his father, mother, uncle and the 20 Muslim leaders know nothing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. They are not a tight-knit group.
