Just yesterday alone, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill Bennett all expressed deep concern at the length of time it is taking for the President to give the "go" command on Iraq. They are worried because the long build-up has given the Left time to organize, build support for it's point of view, and even threaten the political careers of the leaders of the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, and Spain.
This is something very effective and yet very simple that we can do to help. I appeal to every FReeper who reads this thread to mail your letter(s) and keep this thread alive as long as possible so that it achieves maximum audience penetration.

We're not the silent majority anymore; it's far easier to plan an effective response with the internet. I'd recommend writing/calling legislators next week in support of the President as well.

Thanks, Peach. Am pinging a number of active FReepers to ask for their help in spreading the word. Also pinging Jim Robinson to thank him once again for providing this forum, which gives us the means to get such a campaign off the ground.

A friend of mine at work has started a counter website to the so called peace movement. You can visit this site too and sign a petition in support of the President.

A good start, but we're also going to have to take to the streets. Television is a powerful medium, and we are going to have to do something visual.
What would be great would be a televised rally that would include speakers who were survivors of Saddam's gas attacks. Survivors of his invasion & occupation of Kuwait. Survivors of his prison system. Survivors of the Embassy bombings, of the USS Cole, of the Twin Towers & Pentagon. Preferably people with visible scars, wounds, and missing limbs. Only something like this with a powerful visual impact and a riveting personal story will have the potential to change a lot of hearts and minds.

I think our President is a man who will not be rushed into something he is working on. He keeps his eye on the final goal and the rest of the world around him is all in a dither and he keeps going forward steadily. Its a lot being a parent and having your kids running around yelling and screaming and you keep saying to yourself, its all most time for LIGHTS OUT!!!! President Bush has not taken a misstep yet in his fight on terrorism and I don't forsee any in the future. I'll send more notes to my state reps. Thanks for the great info.

As someone who has worked on many a political campaign, and who's career has been spent in public communications, I can tell you that organizing a rally of any size is very, very difficult. Frankly, the Left does it largely because they appear to be more passionately vocal about their politics, and because they have a lot of celebrities who help draw crowds. They spread the word on college campuses, through unions, and similar networks, and are often able to drop the names of celebrities who have agreed to speak.

Seattle radio station KVI 570 is accepting donations for a pro-American TV ad. They started yesterday and as of 9pm last night had collected $75,000 from their listeners. This campaign needs to go nation-wide with other radio and TV stations. Get the word out!
