Andrew Stuttaford on NationalReview.com had the ideal words for these comments (in part):

There is, it has to be admitted, more than a touch of the ethics of Vichy and the Occupation in Chirac's suggestion that a discreet silence might be the most appropriate way to behave in the face of a difficult political and moral challenge.

_end_

SO true. So many out there choose the Old Europe (or in our case the Clintonesque) approach to hard choices and difficult challenges - ignore it and it will go away. Thank God President Bush has the cojones to meet these challenges head on and to make the difficult choices that need to be made.

This is great, watching such important history being made. Old Europe, New Europe, EU, NATO, Iraq, Democracy, Tyranny, Socialism, Capitalism, America, Conservative, Liberal, war. Those are just the pre-war topics. Wait until the war starts and see what China and Russia do. George Bush has a great big bundle to handle or mishandle and to show how great of a President he could be.

"It is not really responsible behavior," he told a news conference. "It is not well brought up behavior. They missed a good opportunity to keep quiet."

What a supercilious, pompous, patronizing piece of French cheese-scum Chirac is! The sheer audacity of referring to the other members as nothing more than CHILDREN! They ought to kick his a$$ from here to kingdom come.

chirac, and most french have not learned that arrogance does not pay, when dealing with America and GB. I don't think they will ever learn, it's in their genes.

France and Germany are now both National Socialists. They have just redefined their "nationalism" to be multi-lingual.

Cajuns are a different kind of French,,my brother in law is very proud that his family was kicked out of france twice,,first they went to Nova Scotia, then back to France then kicked out again to Louisiana. I think the French here hate the French as much as I do. Cajuns are americans.

It would be nice to see the god-less EU crumble early on...

Looks to me like Chirac is trying to fill the vacancy of god by setting himself up as a god-king-emperor of the EU.

The French are indeed living out their own Sonnet du Trou du Cul. Who is Chirac? C'est l'olive pâmée, et la flûte caline. C'est le tube où descend la céleste praline: Chanaan féminin dans les moiteurs enclos!
