I love Barney!!

I actually read all four of the original books!

I was never into the hype.

The movies are pretty good though, true to the essence of the books, though there is some deviance.

Weren't the scenes with Gollum awesome?

I found them to be amazing!

Well, granted that there was some deviance from the book I still enjoyed the movies. I never expected the movie to be exactly the same as the book otherwise it would have turned out much longer than the 3 hours of each movie. Not that I would have minded it but it was still great! Gollum was amazing and Serkis did a mighty fine job and so did the animators. I actually cried in his scenes - I felt so bad for him. So you are another LOTR fan! I am in good company! I still have the books my brother-in-law gave me and I've always treasured them. It's amazing too once you have read the biography of Tolkien which I'm sure you must have known too. I've seen pictures and footage of the Return of the King movie and I am so excited! Can't wait.

I love Don Knotts!!!

On Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at 11:15 a.m.,
actor/comedian, Mr. Don Knotts, received a star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame. The event was held at 7083
Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, California. As a special tribute
to Mr. Knotts for his dedication, loyalty and commitment to
entertaining the public with his portrayal of Deputy Barney
Fife, the LAPD honored Mr. Knotts today with a plaque
bearing the Department badge and a single .38 caliber
bullet.

The Los Angeles Police Department appreciates Mr. Knotts’
ability to put a human face on law enforcement through his
long-term role as one of Mayberry’s finests.
Congratulations, Mr. Don Knotts on your lifetime of
achievements.

The Hunters Come

It was in the evening that the young Iraqi solder stood, and staring into the coming night,
His boyhood comrade came to him and slapped him softly on the back.
The man jumped in fear and his old friend said "What do you do my friend, that gives you such a fright,
You are a proven warrior both true and bold, so what has caused this lack?
The frightened solder stood and clearly strained to listen in the fast failing light,
"Can’t you hear them, can’t you hear them, coming, like ghosts from out of the deadly black?"
His friend listened close but heard not a single thing, and so was taken back all right,
When he ask again and the man replied, "Wolves, American Wolves, they come now to attack!"
"Out of the night to rend and tear the forces Saddam has made, and now its us they’ll tear and bite.
"There are no wolves here in our land what could make you think this thing?" he asked into the pitch-black.
But his friend, was silent as the grave, he turned to ask again, and saw the huge shadow, and he knew fright.
Too big to be his friend and in a pain filled flash he knew the truth of his friends words, as he too fell back.
His last thoughts as the shadows moved across the land, The Wolves Are Coming, in the dark of night.
